We divide our business into 3 branches. Cait Pennington Freelancing provides writing, editing, and proofreading services. Cait Pennington History is our historian branch. And Cait Pennington Holistic Health is our natural holistic health and healing branch.

Cait Pennington History

Have you ever heard or seen something about history and thought to yourself, hmm I would like to know more about that? Have you realised that history matters but feel you’re not as clued up about it as you’d like to be? Are you keen to know more but don’t have time to dig into historical topics yourselves? That’s where I come in. I do the hard work. I dig into the sources, do the study and research, and then come back and tell you about what I’ve found.

Here at Cait Pennington History we believe that the past matters, and that historical illiteracy is a problem in the West, and we seek to close that gap.

We are passionate about inspiring historical curiosity and imagination and restoring historical literacy through historical education.

How do we do that?

We study and write about history, literature, Western Civilisation, and the western intellectual tradition on this blog and on my Facebook, Instagram, and Threads pages, and our Podcast – The Literary Friends Society. I also am working on a book!

Here at Cait Pennington we are committed to five values:

  • Curiosity – Always ask questions. True history is question-driven.
  • Imagination – What would it have been like? We try to put ourselves into the shoes of people in the past and recreate it through words and images.
  • Literacy – Closing the gap of ignorance. We want to educate you so you can be historically literate and able to recognise the difference between good historical scholarship and historical propaganda.
  • Truth – Committed to historical truth. Always. This is the goal of good historical practice.
  • Academic Integrity – Committed to methods of good historical practice and academic integrity. Always.

How can we help you?

  • History – Doing the hard work of research and creating historical content for you.
  • (Historical research is our passion and heartbeat… We use proper skills of historical methodology to research and write about the past. We are happy to assist you with your project or to pitch you one of ours. Just get in touch!)

I am largely self-taught (have done some undergraduate study in archaeology) but am also pursuing further education.

Cait Pennington Freelancing

Here at Cait Pennington Freelancing we have a passion for learning and believe wholeheartedly in literacy and we are convinced that this can help you to succeed in whatever you undertake. With services in English teaching/tutoring and freelance writing, editing, and proofreading we want to help you make your dreams a reality.

Services We Offer

  1. Teaching: We offer teaching and tutoring services in English as a second language for those who would like to improve their English or learn it from scratch. We believe that learning English opens up the world to people in new ways and we are committed to helping our students to pursue and achieve their dreams.
  2. Writing: We pitch and sell written pieces, mostly non-fiction, to publications, and offer writing, proofreading, and alpha/beta reading services to clients.

Qualifications

  1. Teaching: Caitlin is a qualified certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher and holds a Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the TEFL Academy.
  2. Writing: Caitlin is a gifted writer who has completed an English online course and done writing training with The Young Writers Workshop, and put much work into her craft. She has been writing for over ten years.

Our Prices

  1. Teaching: English as a second language classes we charge $50 per student. For private tutoring we charge $60 per student.
  2. Writing: We charge $150 for a 1000-2000 word article, and $200 for anything above 2000 words. Writing, proofreading, and alpha/beta reading is $0.04 per word.

Note: We do not currently have any English classes running but if we get enough interest and demand we’ll consider running one. Please contact me with your interest!
