Ten years ago, Cait was on a trip to the US when she began struggling with some strange, unexplained symptoms. Upon coming home, she thought that she could just rest and it would come right, but instead, it worsened. Over the following year, her health declined with no answers as to why or what to do. Increasingly she found it difficult to keep up with her busy life. Tasks that she once took for granted, now felt insurmountable.
A month before her 21st birthday, she came down with a cold, and one morning she stood up and her legs gave way beneath her. She slid to the floor, unable to walk. Hospitalised and diagnosed with severe CFS and Fibro – and later POTS – she was told that there was nothing they could do. She was sent home to bed, where she stayed for the next two years.
Battling with horrendous symptoms and too weak even to sit up in bed on her own, she grappled with grief over the life she had lost. Refusing to give up hope, Cait’s parents began searching for answers. They took her to doctor after doctor and each one contributed a small piece of the puzzle, but still she made little progress.
Until one day, naturopath turned the tide and bit by bit her strength returned. This was a turning point for Cait. In that dawning of hope, she realised she didn’t have to stay sick, that she could get better. Taking responsibility for her own recovery, she set out to do all she could to get her health and her life back. Now, years down the track, after having made significant progress on her journey, Cait is almost fully recovered: living independently, working, studying, and building the life of her dreams. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
Saddened by the millions of people around the world who still struggle with these illnesses, she set out to create something that could help. She remembers what it felt like to be in the dark tunnel with no light at the end, the helplessness and hopelessness, the longing for someone to understand what she was going through.
That’s why she created what she wished she’d had when she was sick: a compassionate, empowering space to help others also recover.
With lived experience, empathy, and a strong belief in the body’s ability to heal itself, Cait walks alongside those still in the trenches, helping them to rise out of the depths of chronic illness and thrive once again.
Because you don’t have to struggle alone.
There is light. There is hope. There is a way forward.
Cait has found it, now she helps you find it too.
If you’re walking the path that I did, please know that you’re not alone, I get what you’re going through. Your story isn’t over. Healing is possible, and I’m here to support you.
I am currently based in Melbourne, Australia so face-to-face services are only available to clients here, but online sessions are available to clients anywhere in the world.
When I’m not coaching, I’m a freelance writer at Exploring the Litterae Humaniores and pursuing my passion for the humanities, especially history and archaeology, at the university level. In my free time I enjoy reading, music, drinking coffee, and cuddling with my foster rabbit. 😀
